| EXCLUSIVE pics from the new flick from the gloriously deranged Alan Rowe Kelly! Kittens -- local terror Alan Rowe Kelly has wrapped yet another one of his patenty pathological morality plays set in New Jersey, and this one looks to get us where it counts. The piece is called A Far Cry From Home and it's been filmed to be a part of a trilogy of shorts called Hung By a Thread (Kelly's The Blood Shed was originally intended to fit into the trilogy but it got too big and fabulous for its own good and became a feature -- and proud we are of it, right kids?). Cry is about a gay couple from the city, Lane and Kayle (Alan Rowe Kelly and Don Money) who come across a shop in the middle of nowhere and a host of unfriendly locals who don't take to their lifestyle. Alan has said before that especially given the recent high-profile gay-bashings both in NYC (of drag legend Kevin Aviance) and abroad, he felt it was about fucking time someone told a no-comprimise story of the terrors that can beset gay couples in the midst of evangelical Christians, bigots, and other people I'd never have over for cocktails. I say hats off to Alan, and kudos for delivering what looks to be one hell of a horrifying film. Enjoy the pics, and keep your eyes on the film's offical site for more updates on Cry and the other two shorts! Photo credits: Robert Norman (R.N.) and George Schaller (G.S.) |
