CampBlood Homo Horror Features: So Readable They Hurt

Summer of Fear   1978

Linda Blair, Lee Purcell, MacDonald Carey, Fran Drescher
This hot early Wes Craven MOTW features everyone’s favorite victim Linda Blair as a poor little rich girl whose cousin, a white-trash country bumpkin, comes to live with her after her family dies. This of course throws Blair’s perfect life into a tizzy, as cuz’n steals her boyfriend, her father, and her best friend, as well as hexes her horse (in one of the more disturbing horse spazzes I’ve seen in a while) and gives her the mumps (eew!).

Naturally, little miss Clampett is a witch and Blair’s gotta fight to keep her from stealing everything out from under her pudgy little snout, and the final battle is nothing short of glorious. Very well-directed and with an earnest, touching performance by Blair, this is top-notch made-for-tv stuff. And just look at how fucking hot Fran Drescher was!!.
