Here’s a lesson that many of us have learned the hard way: Guys with impossibly perfect bone structure and great wardrobes are the devil’s dessert.
Oliver Parker (An Ideal Husband, The Importance of Being Ernest Scared Stupid) is back on his Oscar Wilde bender with the umpteenth cinematic imagining of the famed fey author’s only novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, in which a portrait painted out of pure gay lust becomes the fuel that drives a gorgeous yet scruple-challenged young man to horrible crimes against man and nature.
Since Parker got his start acting in Clive Barker films (he notably played the scrappy Peloquin in Nightbreed and was in the first two Hellraisers) it perhaps shouldn’t come as a shock that he has a particular fondness for Wilde. But what do we think of this adaptation, which stars the hottie from Prince Caspian and frequently gay-adjacent cutiepants Colin Firth?

Personally, i think this adaptation, although i am a fan of Parker’s, looks to be a bore. Well, ive always found Dorian Gray boring anyway.

To be completely honest, the trailer looks like its advertising a Goth Wet Dream. Maybe that’s just me though. It does have me very interested in seeing it, I just have yet to find it anywhere near me.
I know Im going to see this. BTW I had a BIG crush on Paeloquin, so I dare anyone to say he wasn’t a cutie.
