Oh em gee, y’all – WHAT A WEEK we have had. I feel like I’ve been ridden hard and put away wet. LIKE A BICYCLE TAKEN TO THE LAUNDROMAT IN THE RAIN, you perverts…
Anyway, Andy and I are happily ensconced (sconces? now there’s an idea!) in our new mansion home and we’re back to discuss all the insane and/or inane goings-on in this week’s karaoke-enhanced episode of True Blood.
Enjoy!
Beefy swoosh, people. You heard it here first.

Question Our Authority: Since the fairies told Sookie that she has powers that she hasn’t even tapped into yet, what type of Mysterious Fairy power would you like to see Sookie develop this season?
Yay! Welcome back… I definitely missed you guys last week… although the horrors of moving will certainly keep anybody busy. Congrats on the new house, hopefully you’ll have time to get some unpacking done!!
Great Vlog, as always… and yes, things seem to be getting crazy in Louisiana. The vamps trippin’ with Russell was definitely the hightlight of this episode for me…not to mention the Eric/Bill piggyback ride, now that’s a bromance!!
Looking foward to seeing another Vlog next week! (Fingers crossed you both have the time and energy)
Thanks!!
All you do for us fans, you give and you give till there’s nothing left, just like Mildred Pierce I tell ya. liked the episode but damn it was too jumpy from theme to theme, I was worn out. I read the recap every week on AE to get primed (!) for this, Bri you slay me.
Guyz, didnt you see Sweetie Des Arts with Bud? She might have been with the coroner too. Shifter killing sexing, y’all!
Smokie is so over booked lately, he had other gigs maybe back to GoT for Melisandre.
I have a question for you both, when Eric saw Godric and then looked over at Noranumnuts there was no Lilith next to her, so was it the LSD laced blood that made them see Lil or what.
This is going to be your first Halloween in a new house, a whole house to decorate! oooh I am so happy for you both. Trick or Treaters too!
Welcome back! Congrats on the house!
That whole Lilith-Blood fueled high-as-a-kite meander through Bourbon street TOTALLY reminded me of Lost Boys. Maybe because I haven’t seen it in like, 25 years?
Anyhow: Questioning your Authoritay!
Bill is going to lose his humanity over the next few episodes. What over the edge naughty-vampire behaviour do you think he’ll indulge in?
So many good questions for the Authoritaaay so far. I wonder, who will be Russell’s next love interest? Who would you most like to see Russell do bad things with?
I was not expecting Debby Boone (I was thinkin’ maybe some Elvis? Russell sure had the hair for it). What was up with Claude saying that Sook was HALF fairy though? Perhaps she has some other fae in her family tree? Perhaps one of those Loudermilks Gran mentioned in season 1? Hmmmmmmm. . .
So great to have you both back. Congratulations on the move! Which vampire do you think killed Sookie’s parents? I think it might have been Bill but I hope I’m wrong!!!!!
Congrats on the new crib! I can’t wait for the official video tour after you’ve have time to set everything up.
Kevin, the deputy, is the Dragon, I do believe. He was attacked by Crystal’s brother/uncle/cousin/great-aunt when she and Jason tied him to the tree and Kevin was called out to investigate. I can’t think of anyone else who was there to see the body who might know Shifters exist. I think Mike Spencer and Bud’s new-found freaky is residual from Maryann doing away with their inhibitions.
Seems like they show Bill being not-so-nice when some badness from his past is about to be revealed. Happened in season 3 before he confessed his meeting Sookie was set up and now we see him attacking a group of people. It also seems like this show only shows characters’ dark sides when they’re under some sort of influence (Maryann/Lilith).
I’m thinking Mighty Morphin Power Wicca Holly will help Arlene fight the Ifrit and save Terry.
You guys forgot to mention the adorable Bill-on-Eric piggy back ride that happened right at the end of the Bourbon street scene–the single most hilarious thing in the entire episode.
As far as Russel is concerned, I see a certain Reverend in his future. Steve might just drop Jason for Russel–but i could just be jumping the gun.
Question our Authoritaay: If you could switch places with any character on True Blood, who would it be, and why?
I guess it is just me, but I found this episode to be extremely boring, sloppily written, and scatter-brained. There one or two fun moments: the Bill-on-Eric piggyback ride, as mentioned by Susana, for instance, or the reminiscences of Arlene and Holly. The rest was pretty gratuitous: the whole Lafayette torture portion, Terry and Patrick waiting for the Lost monster, Hoyt and his hate group, Alcide and his new sparring partner, Jessica and Jason killing each other, religious bla-bla-boring of Ms. Salami. Snore central!
Big congrats on your new home!
This season is so off-the-wall that it’s hard to even make sense of all the chaos going on. So many bubblin’ plot points, it’s difficult to pick a favorite.
I almost spit my wine out when you guys referred to the Ifrit as a monster from “Scooby Doo 2 Monster’s Unleashed”. My kids watched that movie at least 100 times, and yes that Ifrit would be right at home with all the monsters in the Coolsville Museum. (And yes Andy, it is a good movie, lol. Even after 100 viewings).
My Question Your Authori-tay is this: With Roman dead, and Russell Edgington rejuvenated, do you feel the Authority plot-line is pardon the pun…dead? Salome and Nora feel like temporary characters to me. It’s Russell’s show. I don’t see the Authority ruling him on any level.
Love that when Andy sits back it looks like he has palm fronds coming out of his head
I’m hoping the Dragon is Maxine Fortenberry, we’ve not seen nearly enough of her this season. Wishful thinking.
Question: Apart from some flashbacks the show has largely been set in the US. Where in the world would you like to take some of the characters?
OMGodric – Maxine as The Dragon?!?! AMAAAAAAHZING. I would seriously plotz.
*clears throat and waits for Brian to go nuts*
Congrats on the new home guys! Love the vlog and loved this weeks episode. Russell is one of my fave vamps and def most entertaining. I can live without the Terry storyline and the Faerie storyline isn’t as good as I was hoping either. It does seem like Eric is going to be the good guy and Bill bad for the rest of this season.
Question: What new supernatural creatures do you think they will introduce next and do you think we will ever meet Mr Cataliades or Uncle Dermot? Both would bring different stories for Sookie.
Hey guys! Love, love, love your show. Random musing: Is it just me or does Anna Paquin’s faux-Southern “Sookie” accent seem… ‘off’ this season? Like maybe she has a new dialect coach or did too many projects I between seasons that didn’t keep her southern accent sharp? Of course now that I have noticed this, it’s all I hear when I hear her speak! I wanted the experts to weigh in on this. (You guys being the experts, obviously!)
Question Our Authority:
We’ve seen the show introduce (and in some cases completely transform) Charlaine Harris’s characters. Who’s the next character from the book series that you’d like to see True Blood take on?
Guys I Question your Authoritay:
If you existed in a universe where True Blood was real who would you want as your Maker and why?
Hi Michelle
You mean its not real, lol. I would want Bill to be my maker. I know he always looks like the bad guy but he is a survivor and soooo hot!
Question for your Authoritay
Of all 5 seasons to date what is your favorite episode and why? Congrats on the new crib boys!
P.S. Whatever Sookie!…see what you missed out on girl…duh.
Wow, they brought the queer this week. Is it just me or was Lala channelling some Whoopi Goldberg in Ghost this episode? And that Steve Newlin/Russell ‘pony’ lap dance? Plus Tara & Pam on the slow burn to some hot vamp incest . .
Congrats on the new house…hope it’s got a spirit or two in the basement and/or attic. Question our authority: We didn’t see many prisoners in lock-up; I assume most were executed. Why do you think the Authority kept Nigel, the deformed baby-eater, alive?
Another question for the authoritaay: Who or what do you think killed Sookie and Jason’s parents?
Question for the Authoritaay:
Now that Pam knows something terrible has happened to Eric will she try to help him even though she could put her new baby Vamp, Tara, in jeopardy? I know he cut all ties with her but she still cares for him very deeply!
