Andy and I are back with a new episode of Blood Work!, in which we try to tackle all the twists and turns of the latest episode of True Blood. We also can’t stop from breaking into song, for some reason – no idea what that’s all about. Anyway, Sweetie Des Arts, store-brand ginger ale and naked, hairless men are just a few of the things on the table this week. Oh – and note that when this vlog was recorded right after Sunday’s episode, www.keepamericahuman.com seriously did not exist.

Fantabulous as always!! Things are getting crazy… although I’m glad that Ifrit thing and hopefully the dragon thing are all cleared up so we can focus on more interesting things… Sweetie hated shifters because her husband or whatever left her for someone who liked to shift into a racoon…
Now that Steve has Emma, I think it’s going to lead Sam and Luna to the Authority HQ… which might make things more interesting for ya’ll

Honestly, I’d be putting Salami in the creepy corner, it’s her messed up blood/lilith blood that’s got Bill so crazy nutballs. Or perhaps Lilith… that lady needs a shower!

Yes! The Christmas song was an Arrested Development reference, actually – they did an entire episode where whenever something disappointing happened to a character they would play that sad Charlie Brown Christmas music as they walked away. Hey Brian & Andy you give good vlog! It looks like you afre settling into you new place…so when’s the house-warming par-taay? I know you plan to invite all your fans, right? I think it should be a circus-tent-striptease-magic-faerie themed par-taay, OK!
There was a lot going in this episode. It seems like they have wrapped up the Dragon-Obamas story line but on the website http://www.keepamericahuman.com there is a picture of a snake with many parts, so maybe the Bon Temps chapter was, dare I say it, just the head of the snake.
And I love that they are finally letting Layfayette get back to old sparkly-self again, the show is so much better when he is.
OK why doesn’t anyone realize that there is something whack about Salami’s blood? And the blood of Lilith is really her blood. Did her blood go bad because she is sooo old? You know like wine turning to vinegar? Anyway when vamps have it now it seems to make them high & have visions. And that’s how she made Nora believe in Lilith and Bill is having a belief-crisis.

With Lilith/Salome’s blood, ocycotin laced ginger ale and Sookie’s fruity bender from a few weeks back, this season may be trying to rival the first for characters tripping out of their heads (lest we forget Jason’s green screen forest swim) so my question is this :
which character or group of characters would you like to see tripping out and having a fabulous time?
Sweetie said her husband left her for a shifter in the Square Dancing flashback. I think the Klan head honcho is the Supreme Cyclops? I am basing this on O Brother Where Art Thou and Boardwalk Empire. Lafayette always brings the realness. “Why you in Sookie bathroom?” I think Molly was carrying the iStakes back to the iStake room… I am so glad the Ifrit plotline is over. It never needed to be there.
I want Bill and Eric to get out of The Authoritay so much. I am so bored with everything that happens there. I want Eric to wander around and behave in a shocking manner like he used to do. I am also not buying this Bill villain (Billain?) plotline. I mean, maybe they are writing him to be evil so Sookie can be with Eric, but it seems out of line with his character in a really sudden way.
I love Russel and Steve and hope this will bring us more wolf puppy shots.
You guys are hilarious. I think I look more forward to your vlog than the actual episodes of True Blood sometimes. I burst into song in my house all the time too. I am usually known to incorporate my pets’ names in songs but I also just start singing when anything resembling a line from a song I know is uttered. Blame it on my teen years going to every single Friday night showing of Rocky Horror.
Sooooo over this Ifirit business. I wanted much more for this whole Terry-has-a-dark-secret storyline as foreshadowed in last season’s finale. This is it? He killed someone innocent during a war? Shocker! Rene needed to appear to Arlene to warn her that a veteran with PTSD has a dark issues stemming from the war? I had no idea! I thought they just went butterfly catching in Iraq. OK, enough sarcasm.
Brendanyc – Love your QYA! I think so many casting choices were big mistakes in True Blood. Skarsgaard is totally how I pictured book Eric but TV Claudine… are you kidding me? Claudine was supposed to be tall and can’t-avoid-staring-gorgeous, not short and elf-like. I pictured someone like Saffron Burrows. I’ve heard she’s like six feet tall and she has incredible bone structure. If you saw a Saffron Burrows lookalike in backwoods Leeesianna, you’d do a double take and think to yourself that “real” people don’t look like that. As for Sookie, I actually thought the actress who played Summer seemed more like book Sookie. Short, thick and blond and errrr, a little dumb.
I think Amber Tamblyn would have been a great Sookie. She has a body type that I pictured more for Sookie. She’s a bit thick for Hollywood’s standards so in the right outfits, she can show off her best features. In the wrong outfits, she appears a little frumpy when trying to hide her imperfections. You know, kind of like a normal woman who might be a waitress in the south. I think she’s a little tall though. Sookie is supposed to be like 5’2″ or something, right? AmTam is a great actress with a great range. She can be funny and dramatic like True Blood can/should be. If you’ve seen her in The Grudge 2, she does a great wide-eyed, terrified face. I was never keen on Ana Paquin’s scared face. It seems to comedic, like if she slapped her hands to her face, she’d be doing a Home Alone impression. Isn’t part of the fun of a horror show or movie to see the main character(s) scared sh*tless? I doubt AmTam would do all the nudity though (which I love about True Blood) and I don’t really care to see her blonde.
My QYA: In book six, there’s a newly-turned vampire who used to be a were who ends up being very self-loathing because of the vamp/were rivalry. Which of our show weres would you like to see changed into “fanger” and who should turn him or her?
While I was rewatching:
Jessica: “it was daylight he went to go get help!”
Me: No…it was nighttime.
Anyone notice how Hoyt was abducted at night while he was getting help for Jess?
I think when he left it was daylight… but he managed to get lost cause they were really far away in the middle of nowhere… so he hadn’t made it back to civilization by nightfall….
At least that’s the story I’m sticking with

Looks to me as if Russell is trying to rebuild his powerbase by getting the werewolves involved (as back in S03) and he’s going to take on Salome eventually….

I gotta say that though I love Russell and Steve as a couple, and, if Emma was an actual puppy, it would be adorable for Russell to get a gift for Steve, I am quite disturbed that they’re taking Emma back to the place where the pedovamp is. I know Russell can easily kill pedovamp (can’t remember his character name), but the thought of that little girl anywhere around him, quite honestly, pisses me off (I know it’s a fictional show, but still).
Damn, ,I truly thought Kevin was the Dragon because he’s the only one I could think of who had an experience with a Shifter (Felton) who would also know the store guy was dead. Too bad it was Bud. I thought his resignation scene was hilarious, but that whole “Humans Rule” bit was ridiculous.
Am I the only one who thought the “Every Body Wants to Rule the World” song seemed disjointed in the final scene? The lyrics to the song were perfect for the situation, but these perky punky girls singing over that dark, sinister, Bill turncoat scene seemed odd.
Question For The Authority: Steve and Russell is a pretty epic power couple. Which other characters would you like to see together?

Does anyone else think that Bill might have tried to get a message to Jess inside the “Vampire Bible” that he handed her. Maybe he’s trying to warn Sookie that Russel is coming for her. Maybe that’s why he has gone to the dark side, to keep an eye on Russel because he knew it was only a matter of time, Afterall Bill did try to go to Sookie when he heard her scream for help that night Tara was shot and turned. It was while he was racing out of the house that he got silvered and ended up in the trunk of the car with Eric.
