Trailer Trash: “Carrie” (2013)

I think the tagline for the latest adaptation of Stephen King‘s epic tale of menstrual horror should be “We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Plug.”

Because from the looks of things, director Kimberly Peirce (Boy’s Don’t Cry) is sticking to the all-out small-town apocalypse that ends the source novel, which instantly serves in this short teaser to set the new film apart from the iconic 1976 Brian De Palma classic. (In case you don’t remember, in that one Carrie White’s rampage of spectacular death and destruction climaxed with … well, with John Travolta rolling around in a car.)

Check this shit out:

What do you think? Surprisingly, the teaser doesn’t make me want to call Nancy Allen every five minutes and scream “BILLY NOLAN!” into her ear.
