Carrie White Will Burn off-Broadway in 2012

Now THIS is a fucking Carrie reboot that I can really get behind.

After a successful staged reading of the notorious Broadway flop Carrie: The Musical back in 2009, producers have announced that previews for the long-awaited return of everyone’s favorite dirty pillows to the Great (Carrie) White Way will begin in January, 2012 at the Lucille Lortel Theater. The creators of the original show (book, lyrics, and music) are all involved and promise a “newly reworked and completely re-imagined vision of this gripping tale.”

Fuck.

Yeah.

Molly Ranson (currently starring in Jerusalem) and Marin Mazzie (who has been nominated for the Tony for Kiss Me, Kate, Passion and Ragtime) will play everyone’s favorite prom queen and her batshit mother.

Queens, book your flights NOW. I may even have to whip up a Bloody Carrie Mary brunch to celebrate the first performance!
