Miss the Premiere of MTV’s “Death Valley”? Watch it Now!

Last night MTV debuted a new comedy horror show called Death Valley that chronicles the day-to-day in the Los Angeles Undead Task Force, a police unit charged with dealing with zombies, vampires, and things of that (super)nature.

I didn’t have particularly high hopes for the show going in, as it seems like a pretty easy mashup of Reno 911 and Ugly Americans (which made my list of favorite things of 2010 and is currently in its second season on Comedy Central). But last night’s premiere was enjoyably bloody and amusing, and the preview of what’s coming in the season looked far more interesting than I’d expected. And as someone who loves donuts more than anything else in the world, I can totally identify with the zombie above, and am thrilled to learn that I don’t have to enter the police force in order to fully dedicate myself to an (after)life of donutty goodness.

And lookie-loo! You can watch the entire episode RIGHT NOW (warning: very violent and probably NSFW):

While many of the castmembers are little-known comics, a few faces might be familiar: Bryan Callen, who plays the force leader, was a regular on MadTV and Oz; the awesomely-named Texas Battle, who plays donut-obsessed younger cop John-John, was in Final Destination 3 and Wrong Turn 2; Popular alum Bryce Johnson plays cop Billy; and in the premiere ep, True Blood vet Caleb Moody (aka “AIDS burger Royce”) has a featured role.

I’ll be tuning in again – while the pilot may not have been a homerun, it’s gory and funny enough, and I think a lot of its weaknesses can easily be improved upon when the show finds its footing. I particularly like the rookie lady cop Kirsten (Caity Lotz), who gives a definite Marley Shelton in Scream 4 vibe.

Death Valley airs Mondays on MTV – will you be tuning in?
