Bits & Pieces: “Shark Night 3D”, “Hunger Games”, “Laura Mars” in NYC, and More!

  • Just curious: Am I the only idiot who is actually excited about Shark Night 3D? Didn’t screen for critics, as far as I know, but I’ll be first in line tomorrow for the in-your-face shitshow. (Above: Sara Paxton and an alarmingly humpy Dustin Milligan)
  • The Hunger Games have a website – thecapitol.pn (that’s pn for “Panem”, clever-clever). And if you haven’t seen the ridiculously lame teaser for the film (which was filmed in our backyard), here it is (seriously – I fucking love the books and even I am sick of hearing about the movie already…):

  • Not for nothing, but Magic Mike – Steven Soderberg’s male stripper epic starring Channing Tatum, gay matinee idol Matt Bomer (White Collar, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning), and local werewolf fave Joe Mangianello – is sounding so hot that not even the looming presence of Matthew McConaughey can kill my filmboner.

  • If you’re in NYC on Saturday, Sept. 10th, do join us at a 35mm screening of Eyes of Laura Mars at the Museum of Art and Design. It’s part of their Fashion in Film series, but more importantly: “DONAAAAAAAAALD! DOOOOOONNAAAAAAAAAAAAAALD!!” Considering that MAD is located at the exact spot in Columbus Circle where Laura holds her infamous “burning cars and lingerie models”  shoot, this should be fucking HOT. (And seriously, we’re going – if you come, say hi!)
  • Check out the trailer for Creature, which is about a half-man, half-alligator. It looks pretty awful but it does star the droolworthy Mehcad Brooks (Eggs from True Blood)

About Buzz

Buzz created CampBlood.org in 2003 to meet a need for a safe place for weirdos of all stripes to discuss horror movies from a queer perspective. Now that the campers have overtaken the Camp staff and locked them in the Arts & Crafts cabin he is questioning that decision.
