Happy Gay Christmas, everyone! I have to admit that it doesn’t feel particularly Halloweeny in my neck of the woods, but I’ve been celebrating for 2 weeks now and I saw bunches of folks dressed up out and about in the city over the weekend (the best: a Tobias Funke from Arrested Development in his full Blue Man/never-nude glory).
Last night we watched a horror movie or two (and Dexter and The Walking Dead – holy WTF ending!), and tonight we’ll probably do the same. Anyone have any big Halloween plans, or do anything fun over the weekend? Post your costume pics, share your recipes for Witches’ Brew, and have a great Halloween!

I attended an awesome local performance of Rocky Horror Live, followed by the best cabaret in Savannah. I even was a runner-up in the Best Homemade Costume category of the club’s costume competition! Tonight I will be sitting in a dark house watching Dexter and The Walking Dead (couldn’t last night), hoping to evade local teens who come to the door in street clothes, carrying backpacks for their candy, and not saying thank you :-p
Let’s see if I can remember how to link a picture … [Ed.: Phyllis, comment images are acting up, but here's a link to your pic - awesome costume!!!]
Ooh, thank you for fixing! And also for compliment
Rocky Horror is always fun!! My favorite scene is with Frankenfurter chasing Janet around: “You’re as essential as a pencial!” LOL
Awesome costume photo BTW! Enjoy Dexter and Walking Dead, but make sure you watch with the lights out for maximum creepy.
Haven’t gone trick’r'treating in years, but as a gr. 12er, this seems like my last semi-legitimate chance, so I’m going out with a couple friends. I’ve been dressed as Norman Bates all day, but almost no one recognized it, despite the fact that I even had a small bag of candy and was carrying a mother-wig. Kids these days…
Probably going to finish up this Agatha Christie that I’m reading and then catch up on the last two episodes of Dexter, finally check out American Horror Story, or watch this BBC show Bedlam that I’ve been curious about–do British accents make for better horror? I think they might.
I’ve been walking around Midtown as a Dalton Academy Warbler and I’m glad it’s a subtle costume because I haven’t seen anyone else wearing one yet. Of course later I will look very conservative because the main event will be the village Halloween parade though. I wish that were a quarterly event–favorite night in the city.
Portland, Oregon
I attended the live show of Willamette Radio Theater Workshop’s “An Evening of Edgar Allen Poe” (http://www.radiowork.com/) then a chimichanga and home.
Cutest costume: a baby dressed as Bert Lahr as the Cowardly Lion.
