SO! The second half of TV’s most ghoulish new series (and perhaps most ghoulish series ever), American Horror Story, aired last night, and it brought with it a herd of murdered teenagers and the answers to several of big questions: Namely, who is Tate and what’s his BFD. There were also a few surprises, my favorite of which involved a dog and a microwave.

Are folks still on board this crazy train of a show? Viewership has been growing week-over-week, so it looks like it’s not actually too aggressively weird for mainstream audiences. Which I love to hear. And the show’s been renewed for a second season already, so now they’re going to have to make some tough decisions about the fate of the Harmon family in relation to the house…
I love this show! Every episode leaves me asking myself so many questions…I wonder who is a ghost and how they died and who the heck is in that black sex suit!?

I still love it, though it appears Addy is truly dead. I’ll miss her but I am glad she won’t be trapped there at Hell House.

True. No way in hell that witch costume would cut it, honaaay. She could have at least had fierce hair: girrrl, you WAS at Rite-Aid! I’m not eeeeven going to address the eeeeven bigger disaster that is Ben’s costume. Did you see that cape? No respectable vampire would even consider that. Where’s the bling? The flair? For reeeals yo… they did not eeeeven wear a fierce attitude. No m’am. At least they got home schooled for a nano second by Chad, but STILL didn’t listen. FAIL!
At least rubber man worked the hell out of that number. The way he likes to stand still and stare daggers… WERRRRRRRRK!
Oh – and R. Murphy has confirmed that Larry’s fam WILL be making an appearance soon.

But it made me happy to suddenly have that song in my head while watching this..made it all the more surreal.

This series just gets creepier every week. I don’t scare easily, but this show has me holding a pillow incase I have to cover my face. But I’m sticking with it. What’s up with these dead people roaming around…are they zombies? And what the hell did Hayden hack up when she was talking to David?
I watched this episode with my dad, who was a first-time viewer. I told him who was related to whom and what they’re storylines were and who were ghosts. Finally, he asked, “so who’s alive and who’s a ghost?” I stopped for a second and said I didn’t know. Trying to explain it shows ya just how much they’ve packed into so few episodes.
Am I the only one who was a bit sad about Tate’s situation? I’d suspected he was a ghost, mainly because of the popping up to talk to Violet and not seeming to have anywhere else to go, but when his classmates confronted him, he seemed to genuinely not know them or that he’s dead. The clue was when he talked to Violet about going to the beach and there being a sense that it was a long time ago (the cheerleader said she’d be 34, so we’re talking, what?, at least 16 years ago), but he looked really confused to me after they’d confronted him. I felt sorry for the guy.
Another thing: the timeline of Tate’s killing his classmates and his dying explains his Kurt Cobain fascination. I mean, I love Nirvana, too, but I was around at that time.

AHS is growing on me – i reckon is because i am now caring for the characters, all the harmon family (really keen to learn about ben’s childhood story, sounds ominous…) and tate (ghost?), addie (RIP)… even chad and his beau + the guy in the latex suit…

Oh gaawwd, I love this show! The microwave-pooch murder was scarring, but I love that the little scruffy thing is now a ghost – I wonder when Viv’ll notice he ain’t eating his premium dog chow?
I’ve been wondering – does an unborn child manifest itself as a malformed lumpy ghost? Then Crayden spitting out bloody globs… I hope they make something of the possibilities…
In terms of the Harmons at the end of the season, I really hope they have the guts to kill all or most of them off and get a whole new crew next year – I personally don’t think the suspense will be nearly the same if they establish that the core family is essentially safe.
